SIGNIFICANCE OF HONORS REGALIA WORN BY GRADUATES

      • VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTORIAN MEDAL: TOP SENIORS GRADUATE
        Students who wear the gold or silver medal of achievement are the top students of East Early
        College High School graduating class
    • STOLES
      • WHITE “V” STOLE: NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
        National Honor Society members in good standing wear the honor white “V” stole with the NHS emblem.
        Officers have a gold stole.
      • RED STOLE: DISTINGUISED LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
        Students who wear the red stole have satisfied all graduation requirements under the Foundation Graduation
        Plan, earned additional credits in math and science and earned an endorsement. Students earn an endorsement by completing the sequence of courses required for the endorsement.
      • BLUE AND ORANGE STOLE: ONE GOAL
        Students who wear the orange and blue stole are OneGoal Fellows. OneGoal is a college persistence
        program that leverages the power of a highly effective teacher to support Fellows to and through graduation
        from their best fit colleges.
      • SILVER STOLE: CLASS OF 2022 OFFICERS
        Students who wear the silver stole are officers of the class serving and representing the whole
        class.

      • GOLD CORD: TOP 10% OF THE CLASS OF 2022
        Students who wear the gold cord are the top 10% of East Early College High School graduating class.
      • LIGHT BLUE CORD: ASSOCIATE DEGREES
        Students who wear the light blue cord have earned an Associate Degree in either arts or science from
        Houston Community College.
      • BLACK AND GOLD CORD: ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE
        Students who wear the black and gold cord have earned an Associate’s of Science Degree from Houston
        Community College by successfully completing six hours of additional math courses and four hours of
        additional science courses.
      • PINK CORD: VARSITY CHOIR
        Students who wear the pink cord are members of the East Early College High School Varsity Choir.
      • ROYAL BLUE AND GOLD CORD: LEAGUE OF UNITED LATIN AMERICAN CITIZENS
        (LULAC) YOUTH COUNCIL
        Cords of royal blue and gold represent students who are part of the East Early College High School
        LULAC chapter. It is one of the most active LULAC youth councils in the entire nation.
      • RED AND SILVER CORDS: NATIONAL FORENSIC HONORS DEBATE
        Students who wear the red and silver cord are National Forensic Honor Society members.
        This is the Debate Honors Society.
      • BLUE AND RED CORD: EMERGE
        Students who wear the blue and red cords are Emerge students which prepares talented HISD students
        from underserved communities to successfully attend and graduate from top-tier universities.
      • GREEN CORD: STUDENT COUNCIL
        Students who wear the green cord are Student Council members who serve as a liaison between the student
        body and the administration. Comprised of student leaders who represent their fellow students and school.
      • LAVENDER CORD: LITERARY MAGAZINE
        Literary Magazine is a creative club that shows the importance of original thinking and expression by
        publishing a magazine each year filled with student submissions and hosting a yearly open mic night.
      • MINT GREEN CORD: HUMANE CLUB
        Students who wear the mint cord are Humane Club members. The Humane Club is an environmentally
        friendly organization that creates and ensures a cleaner and safer community through the recycling of
        materials that have been littered within the surrounding school community.
      • BLACK AND RED CORD: STUDENT ATHLETE
        Students who wear the black and red cord participate in at least one or more competitive sport
        either at East Early College High School or at the school for which they are zoned.
      • TEAL CORD: NAME THAT BOOK
        Students who wear the teal cord receive recognition competing in Name That Book Competition.
        The Name That Book contest, coordinated by the HISD Department of Library Services, serves to
        acquaint HISD students with classic literature as well as contemporary award-winning books,
        representing a variety of genres.
      • RED AND WHITE CORD: FALCON AMBASSADOR
        Students who wear the red and white stole are Falcon Ambassadors. Falcon Ambassadors is a
        mentorship club in which upperclassmen mentor the incoming freshmen students.
      • WHITE AND BLUE CORD:  S.O.A.R. – SCIENCE, OCEANOGRAPHY, AEROSPACE & ROBOTICS
        Students who wear the blue and white stole are members of S.O.A.R. This organization changes lives by empowering
        students to realize their fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development.
      • EMERALD CORD: COMMUNITY SERVICE HONOR
        Students who wear the emerald cord receive recognition for completing over 200 hours of community
        service while in attendance at East Early College High School.
      • BLACK AND SILVER CORD: INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION - AUTOCAD
        Students who wear the black and silver cord receive recognition for earning an approved industry certification.
