• Students are required to perform 25 hours of community service each year they attend East Early College High School as a graduation requirement.

    Students who perform 50 or more hours of community service every year they attend East Early College High School will be honored with a cord at graduation. The following organizations are pre-approved to sign for community service hours; Baker Ripley, Houston ISD, Houston Food Bank, El Centro de Corazon, BARC, Ronald McDonald House, FORGE for Families, Elevate People, and Texas Children’s Hospital. All other organizations require pre-approval from a Dean or Principal. Students are responsible for acquiring signature from staff member at the end of each semester. Seniors should complete a minimum of 15 out of the 25 required hours with one organization. Community Service Logs must be submitted as a hard copy to Mrs. Rodriguez (MRODRI82@houstonisd.org)  Students should keep a copy.

     

    For the 2019-2020 school year students will have the option to waive community service hours and automatically receive 25 hours of credit. 

     

    For the 2020-2021 school year, students will have the option to waive community service hours or to have parent sign for up to 25 hours of community service. Parents may sign for supporting with household chores and babysitting. 

     

    For the 2021-2022 school year, students will have the option to waive community service hours or to have parent sign for up to 25 hours of community service. Parents may sign for supporting with household chores and babysitting.

    For the 2022-2023 school year, students will have the option to waive community service hours. This is the last year for waiving community service requirements for students unable to complete them.
