I’m Skyler Nix, intern with Texas Conservation Alliance, TCA. I am reaching out to connect Houston-area schools with some upcoming volunteer opportunities protecting wildlife! Click here to view flyer!
TCA is a non-profit organization and has been continuing to protect and preserve wildlife and wild habitats in Texas since 1971. This summer, TCA is working with Buffalo Bayou Partnership and SPLASh Texas to restore wildlife habitat along Buffalo Bayou and Galveston Bay. We are holding a clean-up event with SPLASh Texas and two habitat restoration events at Buffalo Bayou Park. Please help share the event information with your school members, students, and their parents. I’ve attached our event flyer and here are the details:
1. Protect bayland habitat with TCA and SPLASh - Friday, July 29, 5:30 - 8:30 pm
Location: Buddy Mcbride Public Boat Ramp Park, Baytown, TX 77520
Join TCA and Stopping Plastics and Litter Along Shorelines (SPLASh) to protect and restore bayland habitat. Removing litter pollution from this area, we’ll help establish safer habitat for the wildlife in the Galveston Bay Area as well as prevent plastics from entering our interconnected oceans. The ocean is the most vulnerable environment to our plastic waste. Join us to restore baylands, protect wildlife, and have fun!
Volunteers can register here and must complete the follow waivers:
- Adult Volunteer Wavier (email to splashtx@abcbirds.org)
- Parental Consent Form (email to splashtx@abcbirds.org)

Location: Buffalo Bayou Park, 1800 Allen Pkwy &, Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77019
Join TCA and Buffalo Bayou Partnership to protect Houston’s most significant natural resource, Buffalo Bayou. This project has two events. On Wednesday, August 3, volunteers will plant native plant seeds. Replacing the invasive species removed from the prior event, these grasses, flowers, and other plants will better support local ecosystems and prevent soil erosion. Join us to protect native plants and Buffalo Bayou!
Volunteers can register here and must complete the following wavier:
