    Unit Overview:

    Spanish Texas 1690-1821 was shaped by events internal and external forces. These forces left a lasting impact on Texas and United States today. An in-depth analysis of these events and an understanding of the causes and effects connection with each one will be the focus of this unit. History happens due a complex series of events (actions) but do we have the insight to know what will happen before we act? The student will learn and practice the process of writing  expository essays and a continuation of practicing analyzing primary sources.

     

    Learning Objectives:

    ·        Recall and list important facts for each subtopics

    ·        Infer a cause and effect relationship between each event

    ·        Develop logical reasoning for events and its’ impact

    ·        Write an effective essay

    ·        Determining significant factors in an event and the “what if” and “so what” question
