Welcome,
The EECHS faculty and staff and I are so excited to have you all back at school this school year and we are so glad you're here. If you haven't gotten a chance to meet me yet, I am Nurse Jimoh (You can also call me Nurse Kay). I am the fulltime school nurse for EECHS. I want to ensure that you all have a safe return to in-person instruction and below I will outline some ways we can all do our part to ensure that we all stay health and safe while at school.
Medication at school *IMPORTANT*
If you will be needing to take medication while at school for any reason, please inform the nurse. Whether you will be holding on to the medication yourself or it will be kept in the nurse’s office, the nurse needs to know, or you will not be allowed to take the medication at school.
Any student needing to take medication while at school must turn in a doctor’s order/prescription to the nurse and parent must fill out a medication at school form. Student’s and parents may contact the nurse at Khadijah.jimoh@houstonisd.org.
Parents may drop off medication and doctors letters to nurses office.
Masks
Masks are required in all HISD schools, buildings, and buses.
Per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations for K-12 schools, masks are required indoors for all HISD schools, buildings, and buses — regardless of vaccination status.
Masks must cover both the nose and the mouth.
If a student, employee, or essential visitor does not have a mask, one will be provided upon entry.
If any student needs a box of mask at any point during the school year, come by the nurses office and I will be more than happy to give you a box. Come as often as you need masks.
Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action in accordance with board policies and district practices and procedures.
Self-Monitoring
Students, staff, and visitors are asked to monitor their health and stay home when sick.
Please stay home and notify the nurse if you have symptoms related to COVID-19, if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or if you are confirmed positive for COVID-19.
I will inform you if and when you are clear to return to in-person instruction.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations are our first line of defense against COVID-19. The district is hosting several vaccination clinics throughout August.
Hygiene
Students, staff, and visitors are encouraged to wash/ sanitize their hands regularly. Sanitization stations will be maintained at all HISD schools, facilities, and buildings.
Sanitization & Disinfection
All district schools and buildings will continue to be cleaned, disinfected, and fogged nightly with hospital-grade disinfectants as a precautionary measure. Hand sanitizer and other cleaning and disinfecting supplies will be provided in all school, buildings, and buses.
* Lets all do our parts to ensure the health and safety of not just ourselves, but of those around us!
