Welcome students and parents! I am beyond excited to work with you this school year and beyond. I cannot wait to get to know you throughout the year. Here is a little bit of information about me if you are interested. I graduated Cum Laude from Houston Baptist University, with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Studies (4-8). Teaching middle school students is my passion, and I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age. I was also a part of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer team during my time at HBU. I also participated in the Association of Student Educators, and was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi. On a personal note, every summer I like to escape to a foreign place to experience different cultures and landscapes from around the world. When I find spare time, you might catch me at a Houston professional sports game, playing in sports leagues myself, shopping, baking, or grabbing a cup of coffee while I grade papers. I rescued a fur baby this summer, so now part of my weekly schedule includes ample time at the bark park. Again, I look forward to meeting and working with you. I hope this helps you gain some context. Sincerely, Lara Johnson Cluster 6S Math Teacher 8th Grade Volleyball Coach ljohns47@houstonisd.org |
