A little about myself.
I was born in Santa Fe New Mexico and have lived in Mexico, California, Illinois, Virginia, and finally Texas.
I graduated from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque with degrees in both Chemistry and Mathematics. I have been employed in the private sector with a bio-remedial consulting firm, Anrgonne National Laboratory, Environmental Chemist with the Texas Department of Health, Drug Forensic Chemist with the City of Houston Police Department Crime Lab and consulted with the DEA, and Texas Department of Public Safety.
I have been at Lanier Middle School for 13 years teaching math. This was my first school assigned and I am very fortunate to be working here.
I have taught both on-level and GT students. For 4 years I was Cluster Leader. This will be my third year as Mathematics Department Chair.
I am the oldest of twins, my brother works at NASA as an Electrical Engineer. He will occasionally visit the school to help confuse my students and keep them on their toes.
I enjoy painting and yoga, although; I have not been able to practice yoga in a while.
I have two great dogs, Crissy and Jack. They are Cotton de Tulear and are the sweetest pets.
I like foods from many ethnic origins. I also enjoy outdoor activities, movies specifically Science Fiction.
I have a great interest in mid-century designs and have collected several furniture pieces over the years.
I look forward to getting to know all students and parents and keeping you actively involved and updated on your child's progress.
