    Welcome to our Lanier family!      
     
    We are excited to start another great school year at Lanier Middle School. Lanier is an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme campus. In short, that means we focus on creating life-long learners who are globally-minded inquirers. In 8th grade, all teachers (core and elective) work together to create our positive and unique Lanier community. With the reorganization of the 8th grade clusters, the math teachers are not able to be completely linked with a single cluster. However, we are still committed to keeping the lines of communication open so that we best serve our students and ensure all 8S children have a productive academic year. We think you're really going to enjoy your 8S experience!

    NOTE: 8S Students will have either Mr. Stumpf, Ms. Bano, Ms. Magee, Mr. Wisniewski, Ms. Klein, Coach Sifuentes, or Coach Bush for study labs. Wisneiwski and Klein are only linked to our cluster for the purposes of study lab and your child may or may not have them for math class.
     
    Tutoring schedule:

    Monday~ Bano (7:15am-7:45am); Magee (3:35-4:15pm)
    Tuesday~ Stumpf (7:15-7:45am); Wisniewski (3:35-4:15pm)
    Thursday~ Klein (3:35-4:15pm)
     
    If you need to speak to the cluster teachers, please email Ms. Magee to schedule a Parent Conference. We can meet on R days at  11:15am.  If you need to speak to an individual teacher, please email them to set that up.
     
    Keeping up with your child's progress...
     
    Each individual teacher has their own website for all assignments specific to their subject. Please visit those sites often to keep "in the know"~
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     Academic Honesty ~ Please don't sell yourself short, embarrass your parents, or insult us by cheating or plagiarizing...or lying about it.  You will receive a zero on the assignment, your conduct grade will drop, and your parents and administrator will be notified. We will follow the Honor Code specifics noted in the student planner.

    Late Policy ~      We strongly discourage late work; work submitted after original due date, if accepted, will be severely penalized.

     
    Classroom Expectations ~ Each teacher has his/her particular classroom rules, but you won't go wrong if you 1) come to class prepared with your materials, your work, and a teachable attitude; 2) don't disturb/distract your classmates or teacher; 3) practice civility:  "thank you" & "I'm sorry" go a long way in almost all instances; and 4) don't make excuses, whine, or tap pencils on the tables.
