• In the Lamar Texans Theatre Company (LTTC) students take on all the many responsibilities of theater productions. Students act or crew at least one performance in the fall and one in the spring. They also make up the company that performs in the UIL One-Act Play (OAP) competition in which Lamar has a long-standing and successful history.

Lamar Texans Theatre Company produces between 6 - 8 shows per year including student directed one-act plays, a school-wide musical and productions from both the junior varsity and varsity acting companies throughout the season.

In the past 7 years, LTTC has competed and advanced to the Area UIL OAP contest five times, winning numerous acting awards and Best Tech Crew three times. Students have competed and won scholarships at the Texas Thespians Festival and Tommy Tune Awards.

This year LTTC is proud and excited to produce their first annual 24 HOUR Plays in which the students write, direct and perform short original plays in a 24 hour period!

Lamar Texans Theatre Company is a proud member of the International Thespians Society (Troupe #153) and is one of the oldest troupes in the country.

Entrance into the Theatre Production and Technical Theatre classes are by audition only.
