On the evening of August 2, 2018, Lamar's new principal was named Mrs. Rita Graves will the Principal of Lamar HS for 2018-2018 School year. Mrs. Graves was formerly of Pin Oak Middle School in Houston ISD. She has nearly 20 years in education.

 

Mrs. Graves received a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in educational administration and supervision from the University of Houston.  She also serves on the Principal's Panel for the U.S. Department of Education's National Assessment of Educational Progress.
