Addressing the Board at Board Meetings

The Board of Education welcomes citizens to come forward at the monthly regular board meetings and speak on subjects related to the school district. Citizens can address the board at the regular board meeting in one of two ways:

  • Hearing of Citizens: for citizens who wish to speak on a subject not
    on the official meeting agenda; or
  • Speakers to Agenda Items:for citizens who wish to speak on an item
    that the board will vote on.

How to Register to Speak

Citizens must register in advance to speak at Board of Education meetings.

  • To comment on a specific agenda item, please complete this online form no later than 11:00 a.m. on the day of the meeting.

  • To speak during the hearing of citizens, please register online here no later than 4:30 p.m. on the day before the meeting.

Citizens who wish to register in person may do so by printing out and completing this form (.pdf) and returning it to the Office of Board Services (4400 West 18th Street, 77092). They may also fax the completed form to 713-556-6115. Please note that the deadlines listed above still apply.
