As part of the bold new vision for the Houston Independent School District, Superintendent Millard House II has made a commitment to students and families that every child will have access to great schools and programs close to where they live—in every community HISD serves. To make this true, HISD must improve its D- and F-rated campuses quickly and permanently. As part of that commitment we have created the RISE (Redesign. Innovate. Support. Empower.) transformation cohort to transform persistently struggling campuses in Houston ISD.

• A rigorous reapplication and selection process for RISE Strong leaders and teachers
• Financial incentives for teachers and school leaders
• High-quality curriculum materials and coaching for teachers
• All students will be offered the opportunity to participate in an after-school enrichment program. After-school programming will include transportation and evening meal.
• RISE Strong campuses will also receive additional staffing allocations to support transformation work (assistant principals, counselors, wraparound specialists, instructional coaches).
