• This is the final review of your course requests. Some choices may have been dropped because demand exceeded the supply of classes or you lack the prerequisites. Please review all courses for accuracy and make adjustments as needed with your parent’s approval.

TO CHANGE COURSES ON THIS VERIFICATION FORM:

    • Draw a single line through the course you do not want and print the course and level of your preference.
    • Return the verification page in to your advisor’s office no later than Friday, May 30 ONLY if you make corrections.

    IMPORTANT ITEMS TO REVIEW:

    1. COUNT YOUR CLASSES: You must have 16 semesters for a full schedule. Some courses may have been dropped due to inadequate space or your lack of prerequisites

    1. ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITY CLASSES: Teachers have submitted lists of athletes and students they want in their programs next year. If you were placed in a sport or class you do not want to take, draw a line through the class, and print the course and level you want to take instead.

If you want to be added to a sport or activity class you are not currently in, choose it on this form and contact the teacher for approval. You can only be added at this time if you add it on this form AND the teacher or coach selects you.

    1. AQUATIC SCIENCE –There are more requests than available seats in Aquatic Science and some were moved to Anatomy and Physiology. IB Chemistry and Physics are available to choose if you prefer.

    1. IB ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE has more requests than available seats. Some will be moved to another science, so now is the time to make a change to IB Chemistry or IB Physics or another class if you are interested.

    1. MAGNET STUDENTS AND TRANSFERS – Be sure you are in the class(es) and levels required for your transfer.

    1. ONLINE GOVERNMENT AND ECONOMICS NOW AVAILABLE: Online government and economics is open if you are currently in government or economics. If you prefer an online course you can complete quickly to a teacher led semester course, select APEX GOVERNMENT or APEX ECONOMICS. Next year, students in grades 10, 11 and 12 may choose to graduate under new requirements determined by House Bill 5 that would not require completion of Speech. Only students who are currently on certain pathways and complete designated courses would be eligible. These would include:

An online course will also be free during the school year next year for Lamar students to complete at home, outside the school day. More information will follow in the fall when these courses will be available. Your advisor can approve you for online courses available for a fee through Texas Tech University at any time.
