Howdy!
Coach Robinson and myself are looking forward to a great season with you and your wrestler. We are very excited to have your input in the program. Parent support is critical for the success of the athletes and the program. Please email me with how involved you desire to be in the program and any ideas you may have for fundraising and support!
It is important for the wrestlers' success that they participate in something that will develop their athletic skills outside the scheduled class period. Three hours a week is simply not enough time to gain the results I hope they strive to have in the program. Coach Robinson and myself plan to schedule summer workouts, winter break practices, and after school practices. All wrestlers are strongly encouraged to attend. If there are logistical problems with getting to or home from practice, please email me and we will make arrangements.
My name is Emily Pewitt. I graduated from Texas A&M in May with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. I will be teaching Biology. I am the head of the girl's program and the assistant to Coach Robinson with the boy's program. Coach Robinson will also be my assistant with the girls. I am a wrestler and have deep knowledge of the sport. I assisted coaching at Bryan High School during my time at Texas A&M and I competed at the state tournament as a senior captain at Lamar High School, Arlington.
Coach Robinson graduated from Indiana University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Film. He wrestled at New Prairie High School in New Carlisle, Indiana for 6 years where he won several tournaments until an injury derailed him his senior year. He was an elementary wrestling coach at Prairie View Elementary in Indiana and participated in several AAU tournaments. He taught ESL in South Korea for 3 years; English and History in South Bend, Indiana for 1 year; and has been teaching ESL at Lamar High School since 2015.
Coach Robinson and I want the both athletes and parents to have open communication with us. We are here for the wrestlers! This is your program and we want to make it as successful as we can! Please feel free to email us at any time.
