    History of Lacrosse at Lamar
Lamar Men’s lacrosse club was formed in the fall of 1988 when a group of young men decided to start a team to compete in the newly forming Texas High School Lacrosse League. A meeting with the principal was held and permission was given to form the team subject to two conditions:

    1. Any Lamar student that wanted to participate would be allowed, and no student would be turned away because they could not afford equipment or team fees. As a group, the organization would ensure that all members could participate equally.

    2. All members of the team would be subject to the UIL Eligibility rules governing “no pass, no play”. In order to compete, students have to be in good academic standing just like a student in one of the Lamar varsity programs.
