Head Coach Michael Lindsey has been the Head Coach for Lamar Texans Football and the Athletic Director the last 4 years. Lamar Football has kept up the winning tradition under Coach Lindsey by winning district championships in 2018, 2019, and 2021. 

The Lamar football program is dedicated to providing all-around development, belonging, and excellence in competition to our student athletes. We develop our athletes through training, educating, and mentoring, focusing on moral character, academics, leadership, and overall physical development. Student-athletes at Lamar will experience more than just participating on a team. It is our goal that a sense of belonging will occur in all of our athletes creating a powerful brotherhood in our program. We intentionally create a culture that values every member of our team that is driven by empathy and respect. Our development of athletes and positive team environment will help us to achieve excellence in competition leading to championships. We strive to be great at Lamar and win at the highest level. 

The Lamar Football program is open to all freshman students wishing to participate and other newcomers who wish to participate.
