The coaching staff is comprised of a group of professionals that have a great deal of track and field background knowledge and experience.  The Lamar staff consists of coaches with head coaching experience and experience in college athletics. The staff is considered one of the best coaching staffs for track and field in the area and has accolades that include coaching district champions, regional qualifiers, regional champions, state qualifiers, state champions, state record holders, and national record holders.

Specialty Group - Sprints and Relays

Competed in high school and college in track & field (University of Louisiana, Monroe). 30 plus years’ experience in the sport of track and field which includes competing and coaching.  Over 18 years in education, and over 15 years as a head coach. Coaching experience includes head coaching experience at Brazosport High School, Hightower High School, Alvin High School, and Richardson Berkner High School. 

Jerry Martinez                                        

Specialty Group – Boys Distance

Boys head cross country coach and he is the boys distance coach. Coach Martinez has well over 50 years of experience in the sport of track & field and is another coach on the staff with head coaching experience. He has experience coaching track in private school, public school, and on the college level.

Mark Krimm                                            

Specialty Group – Hurdlers

Coach Krimm has a wealth of knowledge and experience, as a head coach and former athletic director. He has experience as a college hurdler and brings that experience to our kids.  He has done a great job improving our hurdle program and look forward to his continued success.
