    Lamar PTO Volunteer Opportunities 

     

     

    All volunteers must be VIPS approved.
    Please take 15 minutes to complete the VIPS online training.

    TEACHER APPRECIATION - We are looking for volunteers interested in organizing teacher appreciation events during the school year. We have about 6 events in the year. It's a great way to give back to our wonderful teachers. Please contact the PTO President if you are interested.  
     
    ALUMNI - NEW - The primary purpose of the Alumni Committee is to connect current students who are considering a university with former Lamar students who attended that university. To volunteer, contact Karena Wilson. 
     
    BEAUTIFICATION - If you are interested in helping with the landscaping efforts for our new school and our efforts to beautify our campus, please contact Chrysi Polydoros.
     
    CLASS OF 2023 - Senior year will be volunteer opportunities include monthly senior celebrations, hosting fall and spring fundraising socials, fall food sales on campus, and planning and hosting the LHS Fest. To volunteer contact co-chairs Jill Calderone and Sarah Thweatt.
     
    CLASS OF 2024 - Junior year volunteer opportunities include soliciting sponsors for College Night in October, hosting fall and spring College Prep seminars, and hosting fall and spring fundraising socials. To volunteer contact co-chairs  Lori Black and Jenny Wood. 
     
    CLASS OF 2025 - Sophomore year volunteer opportunities include soliciting corporate sponsors, hosting fall and spring socials, and hosting the parking spot auction in February. To volunteer contact co-chairs  Kristine Martinez and Leslie Wubbenhorst. 
     
    CLASS OF 2026 - Freshman year volunteer opportunities include distributing class t-shirts, hosting a fall and spring fundraising socials, and food sales on camput inthe Spring. To volunteer, contact co-chairs Kathryn Schultz and Allison Teheng.
     
    DADS CLUB - NEW - Volunteer, fundraise, and socialize with Lamar dads. Contact Chairman Henrich Perez for information.
     
    MAGNET / SCHOOL TOURS - Magnet tours will be starting soon, and Sara and Ms. Titus are looking for some more parents to help guide the weekly tours of parents and students.  Reach out to Sarah Thweatt if you are willing to take a shift or two, or know of someone that could.  Tours are every Thursday and training and prompts are provided!  
      
    2024-2025 EXECUTIVE BOARD & COMMITTEE CHAIRS - To be considered for a position next year on the PTO Executive Board or as a Committee Chairperson, contact President-Elect Beth Lane. The nominating committee begins interviewing candidates in February.
