Ms. Amanda Vasquez
Vanguard Magnet Coordinator
Ms. Vasquez graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and holds an ESL Certification in Secondary Education. Before becoming the Magnet Vanguard Coordinator, she taught 6th through 8th grade English Language Arts for 7 years at Burbank. She also was the National Junior Honor Society Adviser for three years, as well as the Spelling Bee Coordinator for a number of years. She was chosen by her peers to be Burbank's ESL Teacher of the Year for the school year 2017-2018.
As Burbank's Magnet Vanguard Coordinator, Ms. Vasquez brings her enthusiasm to a new set of challenges. She loves visiting all of HISD's elementary schools to tell our prospective Eagles all about the great programs here at Burbank, and she enjoys working with our parents as the VIPS and Title I Coordinator. Ms. Vasquez states that her door is always open to our students and parents!
