Mrs. Fretz is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She is an alumnus of the UTeach Natural Sciences program and holds a Composite Science Certification in Secondary Education. She began her teaching career at Burbank, where she won the HISD Beginning Teacher of the Year award in 2012. Mrs. Fretz feels that it is an honor to be a Burbank Eagle, and intends to teach science in room E203 until she retires in 2047.

She is excited to begin the new school year at Burbank, where she leads a rigorous classroom in the Vanguard Academy. In addition to serving as the Science Department Chair, she also spent two years as an HISD Instructional Excellence Coach, where she received commendations for exemplary teacher leadership.

Mrs. Fretz is passionate about science education and is fully committed to providing a world-class education for her students.  Her goal is to equip her students with the skills they need to become socially-conscious, critical thinkers, and outstanding future leaders.
