Mrs. Garcia is a native Houstonian. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston University (Go Bearkats!) and a master’s in Education Leadership Technology from Lamar University. She possesses more than 10 years of continuous experience in the educational field, ranging from 8th Math/Algebra I teacher, Intervention Coach, and Instructional Technology Specialist. Mrs. Garcia has conducted several PD sessions both on and outside the campus, covering topics such as best instructional practices and implementing meaningful technology in classroom instruction.

Mrs. Garcia has received many distinctions throughout her career, such as being elected the 2012-13 Burbank Middle School Teacher of the Year as well as being featured in HISD-Becoming Great All Over. Mrs. Garcia was also elected Burbank's HAABSE Teacher of the Year for 2019-2020.

Mrs. Garcia is an avid bibliophile. She enjoys going to different restaurants and trying out new dishes. She cares very much for her students and encourages them to be lifelong learners and to use technology in creative ways.

Mrs. Garcia currently serves as Burbank's Technology Department Chair.
