TITLE I PART A
FALL ANNUAL MEETING
On Thursday, September 5, 2019, Burbank Middle School had its Fall Annual Meeting in the school cafeteria. The meeting began at 9:45 am and ended at 10:30 am. Our Title I Coordinator, Ms. Vasquez, proceeded to explain what the Title I Part A is and how it impacts our School.
Burbank Middle School is a 100% Title I school and as such enjoys the benefits of additional funds to supplement the academic offerings at the school. Ms. Vasquez showed our parents a power point detailing how Title I benefits our school such as providing extra funds for tutorials, intervention teachers, and class size reduction. The contents of the presentation have been uploaded to this page.
Ms. Vasquez also spoke about the need to a close collaboration between school, parents, and students, and of the need to have a functioning School-Parent Compact. She then distributed copies of a draft of the School-Parent Compact for discussion. It was read and discussed, with the purpose of having a final draft by the next Title I meeting in December.
After the discussion, Ms. Vasquez took questions from the parents which were answered and discussed in turn. The meeting was adjourned with the assurance that the power point would be uploaded to the website and the School Parent Compact would be uploaded as soon as possible.
The next Titile I meeting will be December 5, 2019.
