Ms. Ledy Mendez

Ms. Ledy Mendez graduated from the University of Houston Downtown with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is certified in Special Education EC-12. This year will mark her tenth year at Burbank Middle School, but she had thirteen years of experience working with a diverse population before coming to Burbank, work that included at-risk youth. Ms. Mendez was elected Teacher of the Year at Burbank Middle School for the school year 2015-2016. She was an Inclusion Teacher until 2019, when she became Special Education Department Chair.
Ms. Mendez's most cherished goal is to remove any academic or social barriers to help students succeed at Burbank Middle School.
