Ms. McAfee was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. She is a graduate of Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, with a degree in Kinesiology: Human Performance. She worked at the elementary school level for 3 years as a PE Aide and ISS teacher, and she also worked for a year in middle school as a Mindfulness/Yoga teacher.

Ms. McAfee has many interests to occupy her spare time, such as drawing, basketball, running, and weightlifting. She has a special message for her students:

          "Watch your words because they become your actions. Watch your actions because they become your deeds. Watch your deeds because they become your character."
