Mrs. Alma Lydia Ruiz
Business Manager
Mrs. Ruiz is a native of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, but she has been living in Texas for more than seventeen years. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Her first job was in Mexico, where she was an ESL teacher for seven years.
When Mrs. Ruiz came to Houston, she began working for HISD as a Parent Tutor, helping parents teach their children how to read. She worked in that capacity for four years.
Mrs. Ruiz has been at Burbank Middle School for almost fourteen years. She was the Main Office clerk for her first year, moving on to the school secretary position for the following nine years. Currently, she is the Business Manager for the school.
Mrs. Ruiz's goal is to support our principal in managing our school funds in the best possible way, so that our students and teachers can have all they need to achieve success.
