8th Grade Counselor

Deirdre R. Guidry is a native Houstonian and a proud product of HISD. She has served the Houston Independent School District for more than 30 years as a Special Education Resource Teacher, Special Education Chair, and Teacher Specialist. Ms. Guidry received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Technology at the University of Houston and earned her master’s degree at Grand Canyon University in Education Administration. Ms. Guidry entered the educational arena to provide opportunities that can impact the lives of children and the community. She credits her mom for encouraging her to explore teaching and counseling as a profession.

Her motto is “Building and Sustaining Relationships with our Stakeholders Creates a Successful Scholar.”  

Ms. Guidry came to us last year from Herod Elementary where she was the Teacher Specialist for a year. She is currently working with and scheduling our 8th graders in their appropriate classes.

Eighth grade teachers and students sure have an excellent advocate in Ms. Gudiry!
