Daniel Cervantes
Daniel Cervantes—Austin High School
Daniel Cervantes is a member of his school’s National Honor Society, Science Club, and tennis team. He has also been active in Rice University’s DREAM program. Cervantes attended Carrillo Elementary and Project Chrysalis Middle schools before coming to Austin. He lists his favorite subject as mathematics, and his hobbies include spending time outdoors and playing tennis and basketball.
Cervantes plans to attend Texas A&M University, where he will major in mechanical or aerospace engineering. He is an Honor Roll student who has been recognized for maintaining a perfect attendance record and for creating the best design for the DREAM program. Cervantes is the recipient of a scholarship from Texas A&M’s Century Scholars program.
Leonardo SanchezLeonardo Sanchez—Austin High School
Leonardo Sanchez attended Seguin Elementary and Hartman Middle schools before graduating from Austin.He is a member of the Harrisburg Junior Rotarians, the Rice University DREAM program, and the Texas Association of Future Teachers. He has also served as president of the Science Club and vice president of the National Honor Society.
Sanchez is an Honor Roll student who has been recognized for his performance in CSTEM robotics. He lists his favorite subjects as biology, environmental studies, and paleontology. Sanchez plans to attend Texas A&M University, where he will study biological engineering using the Century Scholar and Study Abroad Scholarships he received. In his spare time, Sanchez enjoys reading, playing the violin, and watching wildlife documentaries.
