    Student Discipline

The Office of Student Discipline supports parents, students, central office, and campuses with student-discipline-related issues, questions, and concerns. Specifically, the department handles the review, approval, and processing of referrals to the Discipline Alternative Education Program (DAEP) and expulsions to the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP).

The Office of Student Discipline (OSD) spearheads the implementation and assessment of student discipline policies and procedures within Houston ISD. Our dedicated OSD team offers guidance, resources, and advocacy, ensuring our expansive school district maintains a cohesive focus on fostering a secure, nurturing, and disciplined environment for both students and staff.

OSD extends support to school personnel and administrators, empowering them to enhance the school climate and culture through positive behavior interventions, supportive measures, and equitable disciplinary practices. Our district's approach to student discipline emphasizes progressive discipline, social-emotional learning, and restorative practices across all educational settings.

Houston Independent School District Code of Student Conduct Is Available in Four Languages - English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Arabic (Pdfs).
