    Tania Ventura—North Houston Early College High School

     

    Tania Ventura will be attending Cornell University this fall to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. She attended Roosevelt Elementary and Lanier Middle schools before graduating from NHECHS. Ventura is a member of the National Honor Society and a finalist in the QuestBridge National College Match.

     

    In her spare time, Ventura enjoys biking, volunteering, and watching television. She has been active in her school’s Christ Club, Recycling Club, and cross country team. She also serves as the campus blood-drive coordinator. Ventura lists her favorite subject as calculus.

    Fernando Rodarte attended Shadydale Elementary and Elmore Middle schools before graduating from North Forest High School. He has been active in the Houston Urban Debate League and has been recognized as an Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor.

     

    Rodarte plans to pursue a degree in his favorite subject—mathematics—from Texas Southern University. In his spare time, he enjoys studying, solving math problems, and participating in debate competitions.
