    Mitchell Flaherty—Sharpstown International School

    Mitchell Flaherty plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a degree in petroleum engineering. He has been active in his school’s National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America. He lists his favorite subject as calculus.

    Flaherty received instruction at his home before coming to Sharpstown International. He has been recognized as a National Hispanic Scholar. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing whist, and listening to old music.

    Erika Acosta—Sharpstown International School

    Erika Acosta attended Neff Elementary and Sharpstown Middle schools before enrolling at SIS. She has been active in the Model United Nations, Student Government Association, and girls’ soccer team. She also served as president of the National Honor Society and editor-in-chief of the yearbook.

    Acosta plans to attend Texas A&M University, where she will pursue a degree in civil engineering. She lists her favorite subject as mathematics, and she has been recognized for her performance in Model UN, Global Classrooms, and soccer activities. Acosta’s hobbies are playing soccer, watching movies, and listening to music. She has received a scholarship from the Posse Foundation.
