University Interscholastic LeagueU.I.L.U.I.L. stands for University Interscholastic League. The Houston ISD UIL Academic Department is the largest program of its kind in the state of Texas with seventy-two campuses participating in a wide variety of UIL Academic activities. Twenty middle schools compete in contests in the categories of Academics, Music, Speech, Debate, and Theatre. We're very excited because this will be the first year Burbank Middle School will participate in the Theater Category!U.I.L. Tournaments provide the opportunity for students to participate in extra-curricular activities which improve student achievement and encourage collegiate competition.
