Students in EMERGE get access to incredible resources and support that they will not find elsewhere. Students in the program are assigned an expert in selective college admissions, referred to as their program manager, who provides individualized support for them and their families every step of the way. Starting in 10th grade, students meet regularly with their program manager and a cohort of other EMERGE fellows in their school, to go through related programming and activities.
Students also get access to some of the best SAT preparation available, which typically helps increase their scores by 200-300 points.
In addition to learning about top-tier colleges in the program, students get a chance to spend time on them. The summer after 10th grade, students participate in an out-of-state college experience where they live in a top-tier college dorm, participate in classes taught by professors, and interact with other students there.
Students also receive an incredible amount of one-on-one and group support through the college application and financial aid processes.
EMERGE does not stop providing support to students when they are admitted to or head off to college. Through its nonprofit partner, EMERGE provides professional mentoring and ongoing support to students while they are in college. EMERGE even regularly helps students secure summer internships and jobs. EMERGE students also benefit from being part of an incredibly powerful alumni network and they often go to college with a group of other EMERGE students with whom they have bonded.
