This is a guide to understanding phase I lottery notification status results. On the dashboard the applicant will see a list of programs that were selected and the result status. This table explains each type of status that applicants might encounter.
Summary of Lottery Notification Terms:
Status Explanation Waiting List A waiting list status indicates your student has not been currently offered a seat. Applicants on the waitlist will be contacted and offered seats in the order they are waitlisted. In Processing In processing indicates the application may be missing the required information to continue processing. Please contact the campus for further instruction at https://www.houstonisd.org/findaschool. In Processing - Not Eligible for Phase 1 Not Eligible for Phase I indicates the application is missing documentation or was submitted after the phase I deadline of December 6, 2019. Please contact the campus for further instruction at https://www.houstonisd.org/findaschool. Not Qualified Not Qualified indicates your student did not meet the qualifications required to be considered for this program’s lottery. Offered Placement Offered placement status indicates your student’s application was accepted and offered a seat in the program. Please contact the campus to arrange a time to confirm your acceptance of the offer. Dropped/Released ‐ Offered at Higher Rank Choice A Dropped/ released status indicates this choice has been declined due to being accepted in a higher ranked choice program
The application outcomes are listed above including the program and status. If your child has received an “Offered (Qualified)” to one of the Magnet Programs, boundary options or Choice transfers above, you will need to accept the seat and make arrangements with the school to submit the following documents to the Magnet Program, boundary option, or Choice School no later than February 13, 2020, in order to secure your child’s seat for the 2020-2021 school year:
- Recent proof of residency (Rent receipt, lease agreement, electric bill or other utility receipt, property tax receipt, or home visit by a campus employee)
- Proof of Age (if your child will be entering Pre-K or Kindergarten)
- Magnet Entrance Agreement, if applicable (provided by the Magnet Program and is required to be signed by parent and student)
- Please provide documents and sign the Magnet entrance agreement by February 13, 2020.
- Contact Choice school for any additional documentation required for enrollment.
Note: Entrance to any program is PENDING PROMOTION to the next grade level. A student with disabilities or Limited English Proficiency (LEP) who meets the specified magnet criteria and is accepted for admission to a Magnet program or Program Choice school is required to have an Admission, Review, and Dismissal/Individualized Education Program (ARD/IEP), Section 504 committee, or Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) meeting prior to enrolling in the program or school to ensure that the student’s IEP, Section 504 plan, or English Proficiency Level can be implemented within the Magnet Program or Program Choice school. Lastly, a program status of either Not Placed (Not Qualified, In Processing, In Processing – Not Eligible for Phase I Lottery) or Waiting List indicates that your child has NOT been offered a seat. Please feel free to contact the school for more information or continue to search for a Magnet Program or Program Choice schools with space available.
