Virtual School Tuition Based Program Course Listing
The courses listed below are available through the Virtual School Department's Tuition- Based Program. These courses do not reflect the course availability for other programs such as the Graduation lab or the Texas Virtual School Network.* - Represents a One-Semester Course.
Enrollment restrictions apply to any varying level of original credit for the following courses.
Course Offering Related to STAAR EOC TestingPlease Note: Students currently enrolled in Houston ISD may only take EOC related courses as distance learning if they need it for credit recovery, and not original credit. The only instance in which they can take it as original credit is:
- Algebra 1 (A and B)
- Biology ( A and B)
- English 1 (A and B)
- English 2 (A and B)
- US History (A and B), Includes AP Level
- If the student has a passing score for the related STAAR EOC exam
- If the student failed an AP course and are attempting to recovery credit
Advanced Placement Courses
All advanced placement courses must be completed as an original credit course.
Students do not have a credit recovery option.
Students enrolled in AP courses are required to purchase their books independently. A book’s ISBN and edition numbers are critical to acquiring the appropriate course materials. Parents and students may find course materials on their own through vendors of their choice. Required and optional books may also be purchased as follows:
