Daniel Dreyfus—Carnegie Vanguard High School
Daniel Dreyfus plans to attend Wesleyan University this fall, where he will study his favorite subject: history. A product of HISD, he attended Roberts Elementary and T. H. Rogers Middle schools before graduating from Carnegie. He has received a Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship and a National Merit Scholarship.
Dreyfus serves as treasurer of his school’s Red Cross Club. He has also been active in Energy Quest, Academic World Quest, and the Texas Envirothon. Dreyfus has been named an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, and he is the recipient of the Wesleyan Book Award. In his free time, Dreyfus enjoys watching political TV shows, writing satire, and reading the news.
Tucker HaydonTucker Haydon has been active in the Robotics Club, the Ultimate Frisbee Club, and the Animal Club. His favorite subject is calculus and he will pursue a degree in robotics engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute this fall using the Presidential and VEX Scholarships he received.
Haydon attended the Horn Academy and Pershing Middle School before coming to Carnegie. He has been recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar. In his spare time, Haydon enjoys building robots and playing with yo-yos and video games.
