    Víctor Gutiérrez—North Houston Early College High School

     

    Victor Gutiérrez, a product of a Mexican elementary school and Henry Middle School, plans to pursue a degree in electrical engineering at the University of Houston. He lists his favorite subject as mathematics, and he enjoys editing videos and playing soccer and video games.

     

    Gutiérrez is a member of the National Honor Society and the broadcast team. He also serves as an algebra tutor, and he has received awards for academic achievement and maintaining a perfect attendance record. Gutiérrez is a recipient of a Regents Scholarship and an Academic Excellence Scholarship from the University of Houston.

    Selena Cepeda attended Coop Elementary and Henry Middle schools before coming to NHECHS. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the STEM Community Service Club, and the Eliminate Hunger Club. She lists her favorite subject as history, and her hobbies as reading, crocheting, and playing video games.

     

    Cepeda plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she will pursue a degree in biology using the Top Ten Percent Scholarship she received. She is an Honor Roll student who has been recognized as an Advanced Placement Scholar and received awards for Best Presenter and Best in English. She has also received recognition for maintaining a perfect attendance record.
