Jesús Del Rio
Jesús Del Rio—Scarborough High School
Jesus Del Rio is an Honor Roll student who serves as the first brigade commander of his school’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. He also serves as president of the National Honor Society, president of the senior class, and captain of the varsity cross country team. Del Rio plans to pursue a degree in finance at the University of Texas, where he will use the Posse Foundation, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and Presidential Scholarships he received.
Del Rio lists his favorite subject as calculus, and he has been active as a Texas Boys State representative and a World Affairs Council representative. He attended Benbrook Elementary and Clifton Middle schools before coming to Scarborough, and in his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, competing in JROTC events, and completing community service projects.Jenisha Patel—Scarborough High School
Jenisha Patel will be attending the University of Texas at Austin this fall to pursue a degree in petroleum engineering. She is a member of her school’s National Honor Society, Leadership Committee, and Senior Class Council. She is also active in the Environmental Club and in University Interscholastic League (UIL) activities.
Patel lists her favorite subjects as science and mathematics. She received instruction in India and at Clifton Middle School before coming to Scarborough. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and meeting new people. Patel was named Most Outstanding Student and Most Improved Student. She has also received recognition for her performance at UIL competitions in computer science.
