    Daisy Gomez—Waltrip High School

     

    Daisy Gomez plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and pursue a degree in international business. She attended Harvard Elementary and Clifton Middle schools before coming to Waltrip. Gomez has been active in the Spanish Club, Club 6, DECA (a marketing club), and the World Affairs Council of Houston. Her favorite subjects are history and math.

     

    Gomez is a member of the National Honor Society, the Teen Court, and the junior varsity soccer team. She has been recognized as an Advanced Placement Scholar and an Honor Roll student, and she is the recipient of a President’s Achievement Scholarship from the University of Texas and a Jones Scholarship from the Houston Endowment. In her spare time, Gomez enjoys reading, playing soccer, and listening to music.





    Jasmin Alfaro—Waltrip High School

    Jasmin Alfaro attended Katherine Smith Elementary and Clifton Middle schools before coming to Waltrip. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish club, the junior varsity soccer team, and Students Taking Action Not Drugs. She is also active in Club 6 (which requires members to earn six math credits by graduation).

    Alfaro enjoys running, reading, and listening to music in her free time. She is an Honor Roll student who has been recognized for exemplary performance in science. Alfaro plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she will pursue a degree in petroleum geology using the Presidential and Jones Scholarships she has received.
