    Rashard Harris—Washington High School

     

    Rashard Harris enjoys drawing, sculpting, and practicing karate in his spare time. His favorite subject is Advanced Placement chemistry, and he plans to attend Texas A&M University, where he will study petroleum engineering. Harris is an Honor Roll student who has been recognized for maintaining a perfect attendance record, as well as for his performance in leadership, karate, and art.

     

    Harris attended schools in Katy ISD before coming to Washington. He serves as president of both the Student Council and the Spanish Club, and he is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, and the National Society of Black Engineers. He is the recipient of a Century Scholarship from Texas A&M University and a Metropolitan Scholarship from the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

    Lyndsey Thompson—Washington High School

     

    Lyndsey Thompson plans to study biomedical engineering at Rice University. She attended Harvard Elementary and Clifton Middle schools before coming to Washington and lists her favorite subject as Advanced Placement calculus.

    Thompson is an Honor Roll student who has been named a National Achievement Scholar and a Mathematics and Science Department. She has also been recognized for maintaining a perfect attendance record, and she was voted the maid of honor at homecoming.

     

    Thompson serves as manager of the High Altitude Rocketry Project and president of the National Honor Society and Mademoiselles. She is also active on the National Society of Black Engineers, the Majorettes, and the Student Athlete Tutors. Thompson has received scholarships from Phi Beta Kappa, the Houston Endowment, and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, reading, and performing community service projects.
