    Chaquette Blanks—Worthing High School

     

    Chaquette Blanks is a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Council, and the volleyball and softball teams. She is also active in GeoFORCE and SECME activities. Blanks intends to pursue a degree in her favorite subject, mathematics, at the University of Texas in Austin, using the President’s Achievement Scholarship she received.

     

    Blanks attended Sánchez Elementary and Deady and Woodson Middle schools before coming to Worthing. She was named the Highest Achiever in Advanced Placement World History and a Distinctive Junior Varsity Volleyball Player. She was also named a regional qualifier in University Interscholastic League competitions and a member of the All-District Softball team. In her spare time, Blanks enjoys writing, knitting, drawing, and playing volleyball.
     





    Brandi Green—Worthing High School (tie)

     

    Brandi Green, who lists mathematics as her favorite subject, attended an elementary school in Louisiana and Woodson Middle School before graduating from Worthing. She is a member of the Student Council, and the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps’ Color Guard, Armed Drill Team, and Honor Guard.

     

    Green has been recognized for her outstanding performance in both JROTC activities and the regional science fair. She lists reading and playing the guitar as some of her hobbies, and she plans to pursue a degree in mathematical biology at the University of Houston.


    Keirra Jackson—Worthing High School (tie)

     

    Keirra Jackson attended the Kandy Stripe Academy before graduating from Worthing. She is a member of her school’s cheerleading squad and she lists her favorite subject as mathematics. Jackson plans to attend Xavier University in Louisiana, where she will study biology in advance of a career in medicine.

     

    Jackson is an Honor Roll student who has earned a perfect score on the math portion of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills for two consecutive years. She was also named Most Improved Student, and she has received scholarships from her church, Xavier University, and the Houston Endowment. In her spare time, Jackson enjoys cooking, cheering, and spending time with her family.
