School Supplies

  • Although many HISD campuses have similar requirements for what children should bring to class at the start of the new academic year, parents should contact their child's school directly to obtain a list of required supplies before making their purchases. Supply lists for grades seven through twelve may vary from school to school, as the course of study in secondary classes is more specialized. Teachers will distribute school-supply lists for specific secondary-level classes as needed.

For students and families facing financial challenges, assistance in purchasing school supplies or uniforms may be available through Title I funds, which were decentralized so that the money goes directly to schools. The Title I Program provides federal funds to help economically disadvantaged children. Contact your child’s school directly to find out if it offers Title I assistance.
