Laura E. Perez was born in Mexico City, Mexico, calling Houston home since she was 6 years old. Ms. Perez graduated from High School in 2001 and started her education journey as a teacher assistant for Aldine ISD. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston in 2009. Since then, Ms. Perez has taught various grades levels and subjects in Aldine ISD and in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. She joins HISD with over 15 years of educational experience and is always eager to empower families and children to be successful in creating meaningful relationships with each other. She is a true believer that when working collaboratively with teachers and schools, it can impact families and increase overall student achievement. Ms. Perez enjoys watching movies, dancing and spending time with family and love ones.
