Why the Buddy Program?
The idea of spending your first year in a new city can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be, transitioning into a new position with a familiar face by your side can help subdue that intimidation. HISD’s Buddy Program was designed to do just that, by giving recent college graduates the opportunity to make the move with a friend from their university!
How do I Participate in the Buddy Program?
If you have a friend that is also interested in the Houston ISD Apollo 20 Fellowship, link up with them and make sure of the following:
- You and your prospective buddy graduate in the same semester
- You and your prospective buddy submit an application to the Apollo 20 Fellowship
- You register your "pair" through the Buddy Campaign link (REGISTER HERE)
What Will Happen Next?
For those buddy pairs that are offered the Apollo 20 Fellowship and assigned the same grade-level, the Apollo Recruitment team will begin referring your “pair” to campuses that have expressed interest in the program.
