Enter the Houston Money Week Essay Contest by March 21

Capital One Bank-sponsored competition is open to all students in grades 6 through 12

In support of Houston Money Week, which runs from April 9–15, 2012, Houston Money Week and Capital One Bank are sponsoring an essay contest for students in grades 6–12.

The topic this year is: “What are the benefits of saving and budgeting?

How would you utilize financial education to improve your future?” and the contest is open to students in grades 6 through 12.

Essays must be 500 words or fewer, and two finalists will be selected: one from middle school and one from high school.

The middle school student will receive $1,500 and the high school student will receive $2,500.

In addition, the finalists will attend the Houston Money Week Kick-Off Reception the week of April 9.
