District to Host Parent Involvement Conference, Transition Fair February 26

HISD’s Office of Special Education Services will sponsor two annual districtwide events on Saturday, February 26: the Parents of Preschool Children with Disabilities (PPCD) Parent Involvement Conference and the Annual Transition Fair for students with disabilities.
Both events will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center, 4400 West 18th Street (77092).
Parents and families of children with disabilities, ages three to twenty-one, are encouraged to attend.
- The PPCD Parent Involvement Conference will provide fun, multi-sensory activities and instructional materials for use at home to increase developmental skills in all academic areas. Parents will also receive information about community resources for young children.
- The Transition Fair for parents and families of elementary-, middle-, and high-school students with moderate to severe disabilities can learn how to help their children while in school and make plans for after graduation.
