Register for Parent Meeting on Federal Funding by May 13

Help HISD decide how to use the funds reserved for parental involvement activities

May 03, 2011

The Houston Independent School District will hold its annual consultation meeting with parents of students receiving services from the district’s federally funded programs (i.e. Title I) on:

Wednesday, May 18, 2011
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center
4400 West 18th Street
Board Auditorium (First Floor)

The purpose of the consultation meeting is to ensure parental involvement in the planning, design, and implementation of all Title programs prior to submission of the 2011–2012 No Child Left Behind Consolidated Application for Federal Funding to the Texas Education Agency.

Due to limited seating capacity, it is suggested that only one parent representative per campus attend the meeting. This representative could be the school’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) president, a parent representative for the Migrant or Limited English Proficiency program, or any other parent interested in attending the consultation meeting. Parents who are interested in attending this meeting must contact their child’s school. Principals will submit the parent’s name, the parent’s affiliation (e.g., PAC), and the school’s name to their assigned Title I Program Specialist by Friday, May 13.

Spanish translation services will be provided. Services for the hearing impaired will also be provided, if requested by 4:00 p.m. on May 13.
