Event to kick off district’s series of Community Conversations in October

Fifty-two students from several HISD high schools will be participating in a live forum to discuss the district’s progress and challenges with Superintendent of Schools Terry B. Grier on Wednesday, September 28.

This unscripted, town-hall-style forum will be broadcast live on HISD-TV starting at 4:00 p.m.

With this student forum, HISD kicks off the upcoming series of Community Conversations in October, when Dr. Grier will personally visit six locations throughout the city to discuss the progress made since the Board of Education adopted HISD’s Strategic Direction a year ago.

The schools participating are: Austin, Bellaire, Carnegie, Davis, DeBakey, DeVry Advantage, East Early College, Eastwood, Empowerment, E-STEM West, Furr, Jordan, Lamar, Liberty, Madison, Milby, Reagan, Scarborough, Sharpstown, Washington, Westside, Wheatley, Worthing, and Yates High Schools, as well as the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, the Houston Academy for International Studies, and the Sam Houston Math, Science, and Technology Center.
