The Board of Education created the Board Monitoring System as a mechanism to measure the district's progress in achieving goals outlined in the board's Declaration of Beliefs and Visions (.pdf). It establishes a schedule of detailed reporting to the board and community on the district's efforts and effective use of taxpayer dollars to meet the district's facilities standards, and evaluate all major programs and services.
In January 2013, the Board of Education approved changes to the Board Monitoring System. Specific, actionable measures shall be provided to the Board on an annually recurring basis for ongoing monitoring and trend reporting in the areas of rigorous education in reading and math, consistency, and safety. The intent is to provide a holistic view of the district. More details about the system can be found in the policy AE(LOCAL). A table listing the Board Monitoring Metrics can be found in AE(EXHIBIT).
