Houston ISD Parent Engagement Plan 2022-2023
The Early Childhood Department in HISD believes that in order to ensure a high-quality Prekindergarten program, we must evaluate the work done throughout the year to identify areas of need, as well as areas of growth, and determine next steps for improvement. For this reason, we utilize a self-assessment tool to evaluate our PK programs across the district. Here in HISD, we welcome the opportunity to take a closer look at our program, reflect on our practices and determine next steps to continue to provide high-quality education for our PK students.
We completed this process with the help of a PK Program Evaluation Committee. We selected members from different campuses to be part of this committee and help us identify and prioritize key strategies for improving quality, assess current PK practices, and plan for next steps to address key areas. We selected the Self-Assessment Tool provided by Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Below you will find the results of this self-evaluation, our next steps to provide the high-quality education our youngest learners deserve, as well as student data.
