Blackboard Web Community Manager (formerly known as Schoolwires) is a content management system that will allow your department or campus to create a robust public site that not only represents your office professionally, but also provides numerous tools to help maximize your web presence. Blackboard WCM allows you to easily manage staff directories, create blogs, and efficiently maintain departmental and school calendars.

Online training videos and materials are provided under the resources page. The HISD Web Team also conducts training where you can ask questions and get help building your site.

If your supervisor or principal has asked you to maintain your department or campus website, you must sign up for Blackboard Basic Training.

We recommend that each department and campus have at least one backup webmaster in case someone is unavailable to make edits to your website.

After you complete basic training, you will be granted access to your department or campus website.

Web Services does not manage access nor maintain department SharePoint websites.

First, sign up for training in OneSource to get SharePoint site owner access:

Next, submit a request with IT to get access or to create a new SharePoint site.

To login to Blackboard:

1. Go to your department or campus homepage. If you're editing a department website that has the same look and feel as the HoustonISD.org homepage, scroll down to the footer of the page, and click Sign In:

   

   On school websites, the Sign In link will be at the top:

   

2. When you get to the login screen, click on the Click Here to Login button. Do not try to enter your HISD username and password in the username and password fields above:

   

Here are a few things you can try to fix this issue:

• Check your Junk and Clutter folders
• Make sure you don't have rules set up in Outlook that might be keeping you from getting email from Superintendent@houstonisd.org
